Lakeville Market Fire
Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009

At around 5:00am on Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009 the FVFD was dispatched as mutual aid for Lakeville to the scene of a working fire at the Lakeville Market on Route 590W. 81 Ladder and Tanker went responding with full crews. While en-route Wayne County Comm Center advised us that it will be a surround and drown assignment. Upon arrival found fully involved fire with flames coming out every part of the building. 81-2 set up the aerial device which was fed by Lakeville’s engine. Crews went to work on an exterior attack even though water supply was a major issue. Challenges with lines freezing and issues at the fill site were what the departments had to deal with. At approximately 9:00am the fire was out and overhaul was complete. All units went returning.
