On Friday, July 4th, 2008 at 0017 hours the FVFD was dispatched along with Blooming Grove and Tafton Fire Departments to an MVA, vehicle off the roadway, with entrapment at the intersection of Route 402 & Route 6. 81 Rescue and Engine went responding with full crews. Upon arrival found 1 vehicle on its roof with entrapment. The rescue crews went to work on extricating the patient while the engine crew setup an attack line in case of fire. Patient was successfully extricated and loaded into Tafton’s ambulance and then transported to CMC with ALS on board. All units went back in service at approx. 0115 hours.

On Sunday, June 22nd, 2008 members from the four Lackawaxen Township Fire Departments participated in vehicle rescue drill held at our firehouse. Teeples Junk Yard dropped off four cars for use to play with. We practiced using different techniques and tools to gain entry into the vehicles and rescue the patients. The drill could not have went any better! Everyone worked together to get the job done while have fun at the same time.
