About Us
The Forest Volunteer Fire Department has been serving Pike County's Lackawaxen Township and Eastern
Wayne County's Hawley Area for over 50 years. Forest's quick response, professional firefighting techniques,
and life saving skills have been a great asset to the local community. What started out as a small fire department
with only a few members and limited apparatus now has over 30 active members, top of the line equipment, and
6 different pieces of apparatus. Forest's firefighters hold state certificatons such as Essentials, Firefighter
1, Firefighter 2, HAZMAT, EVOC, and Incident Command. Forest also has a certified EMT's and First Responders
to provide Basic Life Support at Motor Vehicle Accidents or Rehab Services at Fire Scenes. All of Forest's members
attend weekly training provided by the company to help improve their skills which makes them more efficient in
the fire service. Whether it be working together on a particular truck, cleaning or maintaining the firehouse...
you won't find a better group of guys than here at Forest! That's the one thing that has not changed over the past
50 years. Are you interested in becoming a member? Give us a call, or stop down at one of our meetings. Our meetings
are held on the second Sunday of the month, at 6:30 PM. Our station is located at the intersection of Route 590 and
Towpath Rd. in the village of Kimbles.
Our primary response area includes the western part of Lackawaxen Township and the communities of
Woodledge, Tink Wig, and Woodloch Springs.
